WHAT ARE SOME REGULAR EVENTS THE OLSON PTO SPONSORS TO SUPPORT OUR OBJECTIVES?
HOW DO WE FUND ALL OF THESE EVENTS?
The majority of the Olson PTO funds come from a direct donation campaign conducted by our fundraising committee. Other funds come from our annual spring carnival, The Big Splash, the Annual Otter 5K Walk/ Run, Fall Book Fair, Otter Gear Apparel, Box Tops for Education and AmazonSmile.
WHAT DO THE FUNDS RAISED GO TOWARDS?
The funds raised by the PTO go towards a number of things:
WHEN & WHERE DO WE MEET?
The Olson PTO meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the school library. Meetings typically last 1 hour, and child care is provided.
WHAT DO WE DISCUSS AT THE MEETINGS?
Typically we receive an update from the school principal on various topics affecting Olson students, school and MMSD. On occasion we have a special guest. We always have an update from the Olson PTO board and discuss upcoming activities.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
Our parent volunteer opportunities come in all shapes and sizes. There are activities to meet everyone’s talents and schedules. Some activities are one-time events, while others may require an ongoing commitment. Some take place during the school day and others can be performed in the evenings or weekends.
The Volunteer Sign Up form lists events, activities and committees that were suggested by either Olson parents or the Olson PTO. Many of these events need chairperson(s) along with volunteers. Please review the entire list and mark events or activities that you would be interested in helping. Please return the form to your oldest child’s teacher.
